Coss River APC Chairman Exhorts Nigerian Youths On Violence And Misconduct

The Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) Chieftains and a onetime governorship candidate of the party in 2015 in Cross River State, Mr. Odey Ochicha has advised youths in the country not to allow themselves to be used and dumped.
Ochicha cautioned the youths while delivering lecture on the topic “Transformational Leadership and Youths Development” at the public lecture organised by the Central People’s Assembly in Ikom, Cross River State.
He said that every human being especially the youths ought to be loved, inspired, motivated, encouraged and supported by the leaders rather than the present situation where Nigerian leaders see the youths only as tools to be used for their own personal gains and thus shooting themselves on the foot and putting the whole society in danger.
The Politician advised the youths not to give anybody the opportunity to use, mislead, discourage and dump them after achieving their selfish and greedy aims. “Don’t allow anyone to use and dump you. You ought to be loved, led, inspired, motivated, encouraged and not to be used, misled, discouraged and dumped”.
He said that “Lose money, you have lost nothing, lose health, you have lost something but lose character, you have lost everything”. While emphasising that Nigerian youths are endowed with enormous energy and creativity which have not been channelled appropriately for the development of the country, he advised them to rise up and become the vanguard for progressive change.
“Our youths should be the vanguard for progressive change, majority shareholders of national assets, greatest change agents, engine room of our nation, champion of transformation, front runner for nation building, greatest oversight drivers, back bone of the nation and the Policemen of the society.
“Progressive society deliberately build the future of their youths by giving them sound, solid and quality education, mentor them through various programs and schemes, give them opportunities to express themselves, put their skills and attitude to use, build their experience and self-confidence, position them as leaders of today and tomorrow and prepare them for leadership role”, he said.
